My mother underwent a radiological procedure under this doctor’s care, and what followed was a medical nightmare for our family.
During the procedure, a major vein was punctured, resulting in severe internal bleeding. The bleeding was so extensive that blood accumulated in her chest cavity, compressing her right lung and severely affecting its ability to expand. She became critically ill, required emergency intervention, and was eventually placed on a ventilator.
What is most concerning is that my mother was on blood-thinning medication, which significantly increases the risk of bleeding and should have been taken into careful consideration before and during the procedure. Despite this, a serious complication occurred that nearly cost her life.
Subsequent surgery confirmed the source of the bleeding. What was meant to be a routine medical procedure turned into a life-threatening emergency, causing immense physical, emotional, and financial suffering for our family.
Patients trust radiologists and doctors with their lives. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage patients and their families to ask detailed questions, understand all risks, and seek a second opinion whenever possible before undergoing any invasive procedure.
